The CAA are adding the requirement for no towering Cu (as well as no CB's) to the definition of CAVOK from 5th November.

Do you think this will be applicable in the UK only or do you think the rest of Europe will also adopt this? Will be annoying if we have yet another variation from a standardised norm.....seems like everything in aviation is "standard with exceptions"

Just checked the Met Office site and the wording there is the same so it looks like a straightforward ICAO change. Much the same as removing fronts from med/high sig wx charts and the change to TAF validity.

Can't see a problem with it myself. However.....
