Hi

I saw a pull out cutaway (i.e. engineering type drawing showing the construction of the aircraft) poster of an aircraft (not an Airbus) in a recent issue of Flight International. It got me thinking...

I am starting an Airbus course soon and wondered if Flight International (or anyone else) had ever issued a cutaway poster of the A320 series of aircraft. If anyone has one - I would be interested in buying (preferably) or borrowing it for the duration of my course.

Any offers?

Thanks and all the best.

Absolutely no help to you! You will be overwhelmed with books and paperwork as it is. Stick to detailed cockpit panel diagrams only and buy absolutely nothing extra apart from an FMS instruction book IF you feel you need it. A front panel poster is also very useful for familiarity. You will have more than enough on your plate, and your course will give you all the information you need. The problem is not gathering information, it is retaining it!

Thanks for your response. I totally understand where you are coming from. However, I would still be interested if anyone knows where I could locate such a poster - more to satisfy my curiosity than because I need the poster.

Cutaway posters that are featured in Flight magazine are available from the publishers. Really old or rare cutaways may come as photocopies only, but you can still get them. The entire Airbus family is available from flight, and the A320 cutaway can be seen here:

Airbus A320 Aircraft Profile - Flight Global (http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2008/01/01/221129/airbus-a320-aircraft-profile.html#Cutaway)

You will have to dig around and find out how they can be ordered. I ordered a cutaway poster several years ago by using a phone number in the current copy of Flight International magazine. Have a careful look in a magazine or search the website. I had a quick look at the latter but didn't see anything - I'll leave that to you.

UPDATE: Some useful info on this page:

Aircraft Pictures and Aviation Pictures from Flight Global - Aircraft Pictures and Aviation Pictures from Flight Global (http://www.flightglobal.com/staticpages/cutaways.html)

"We are gradually moving the Cutaways over to our AirSpace photo galleries which is an important developmental step in allowing us to offer the Cutaways for purchase and download.

If you have any questions concerning the cutaways and their usage, please feel free to contact me.

Normally you will get cockpit posters from the TRTO that you do your type-rating with...

Mr Bernouilli and Fargoo

Thanks for your help and useful leads - I am following them up. Your assistance is much appreciated.

In the mean time, if anyone has an old poster lying around, I would be interested in it.

All the best.
