I seem to recall this subject coming up in UK and EU parliaments about once every three years for the last twenty years or so. Nothing ever gets done.

There are already comprehensive rules on this. We just need to see them ENFORCED. The penalties for infringement appear so feeble that certain operators prefer to advertise misleading "fares" and risk the fine.

I think they should be clearly quoting both their price and the total price including taxes and fees, just so we know how much the government is extracting from us when we fly. If it's all-inclusive then (as with petrol) the tax part can increase out of all proportion without people being aware of it.
