Hello,

I was wondering if any of the 'first officer' pilots would like to share their life story; or there journey to their first airline job. I've read the other stories in the sticky but it will be interesting to read more experiences.

Many thanks
Ric

Definitely - Pilot Pete's (http://www.pprune.org/forums/professional-pilot-training-includes-ground-studies/6911-full-story-start-end.html) was a really great read...very motivating :ok:

I did bush flying (oz /caribbean) for the first 2500 hours, then got right seat on turbo prop, made captain after 600 hours on type,at 4500 TT I got the jet job....now flying MD11 as f/o .
Best advice to you is be prepared to knock on doors, and get yourself into a company(even if its a non flying job).My first 3 flying jobs were all door knocking, the last was more formal via application.
Good luck:ok:
