Hi,
I need any info I can get regarding the DGCA requirements for conversions. I have not got one straight answer and am frustrated with conflicting info.
1. I have an FAA CPL and was looking into converting to the Indian CPL. I was born and brought up in India but am a U.S citizen....Is that gonna be a big issue. I mean I am working on a PIO.
2.I have the math requirement but did commerce in yr 12. Is there any way around this? Can I do the physics now here in the U.S? what are my options if any?
3.Any resources I can use to prep for the writtens? The RT exams?
4.Are the checks done on the single engine? and what are you tested for?

Hope someone can give me some insight into this process. I would greatly appreciate any help with it.Hope to hear soon. THanks

FltSftygrad,
Conflicting info on conversions is the first step in "this process". Important to keep at it.Send me a PM.. might be able to help with a couple of things.
Cheers.

Dear FltSftygrad

Losers have excuses! There are a few jobs left out in Airlines and GA. You can get ur OCI card convert and still try your luck else you have a US Citizen and enough jobs on offer at the starting end of the career chain.

As for physics you can get it from USA , get a equivalence certificate from the Assoc of indian universities.

Zero and HP,

A friend of mine who is a US citizen is working with Air Deccan on the basis of his OCI card. Now, he has already converted his licence to Indian licence before he took US citizenship, so I am not sure how DGCA will react to your case. His airline in general had no problem hiring him on his OCI card.

Thank you guys . I appreciate any feedback on this. I had forgotten how different the FAA is from the DGCA as far as how much simpler and easier it is to get things done here.

Any feedback on the books that I can use to prep for the exams?
