Hey guys,

Earlier today (about 1410L), I encountered a formation of about 5 light single piston ac in LFA 17, heading NW from the Malham Tarn area. They were all the same type, looking much like french Epsilons, with distinctive light airframes and dayglo high-vis flashes. They were transiting in a gaggle, about 1/4nm spaced, at about 250' MSD.

With a sense of due trepidation and awaiting the inevitable sarcy replies...does anyone know who they were and why they were in the LFS?

Did they look like this (http://www.raf.mod.uk/equipment/tutorrecognition.cfm)?

Not exactly an Epsilon but the most likely SEP formation user of the UKLFS.

No, my recce skills are sufficiently honed to recognise the aircraft in the next hangar. Well, nine times out of ten they are....

French Grobs heading north? Cool. Are they here as part of an exercise?

Don't know, they may be on the way to get some new white flags !! from the white flag factory.

If I find out I'll let you know.
