Stansted Car Parking

I was told by a member of Stansted ground staff that one day parking in the Long-Term car park can work out cheaper than the Mid-Term car park. However, trying to execute this online gets me diverted to the Mid-Term bookings site. Is there a way to circumvent this and has anybody proved this?

I recently paid £50 for 7 days parking in the long term at Stansted, admitedly booked in advance to get the best rate, but I doubt you'd get as favourable terms in the mid term park (not that I knew that facility existed).

According to the BAA website, the Long Stay at Stansted requires a minimum stay of three days. It may be just a marketing trick though, so it could be worth checking with them directly. That would explain why you can't book it online, so it may just be a case of turning up and paying.
