Congratulations to 201 Sqn Crew 2, who retained the Fincastle Trophy despite stiff opposition from the Aussies, Kiwis and Canadians. Great teamwork by Crews 2 and 5 along with huge efforts from NLS meant that the 3 weeks in Comox were well spent (.....and receipted).

Well done guys and gals

Congratulations to Chuckmeister and his boys. Must have been those lucky charms :ok:

And well done to all those others involved out west (back-up crew, ground-crew and ops) that made this possible.

Reminds me of the 'ol....."Ontop..now..now..now".

I missed it...I retired from Maritime RAAF a very long time ago, but still have vivid memories of the 10 years of flying the P3B/C in both 10 & 11 Squadrons.

Hey LPD, can you recall which squadron represented the RAAF this year?

I was supposed to be over in the Seattle area a couple of weeks ago with my current business, and was planning to drive up thru Vancouver to Comox to look see, but alas it has been delayed (the best laid plans..etc).

Cheers...FD...:\

The Squadrons representing their nations were as follows:

UK 201 Sqn RAF

Australia 10 Sqn RAAF

NZ 5 Sqn RNZAF

Canada 407 Sqn CF

All were a credit to their service

We won, even though we sent the second team! Just think how good Fauldsie and 42 Sqn would have been:O

well done to crews 2 & 5. What was the full results and what was the sport for the Ramnee trophy?

Aussies took the groundcrew trophy... probably cause there was 30 of them compared to our 8....

Canadians took the Ramnee trophy due to their Aurora pull win...

Congrats to Crew 2. Only made possible by the hard work of the guys and girls from NLS, thank you.

We may not have won the Fellowship or Lockheed trophies, but if it wasn't for the tireless work of both groundcrew shifts in getting the a/c serviceable for the last flight and crew 5 supporting crew 2, we wouldn't have won the overall competition.

A real all round team effort (and a bloody good time).:D

P.S. The look on OC 10 Sqn's face was priceless :ok:

Steady on Cattivo. His crew may have won the Fincastle but he is still an Irish PORG.

Only Joking!

Fincastle & Rum Punch (RIP) - maritime's answer to Red Flag.

Congrats to Chuckmeister and all the boys from 201 / NLS, shame Crew 5's livers weren't up to raising the Fellowship Trophy, surely the only prize worth winning!

Shadwell,

You know the P1 Captain always wins the Fincastle (almost on his own).... But you had a good grip of the Tea Tray for Sqn Photo as I recall :)

Well done all.

Takes me back to my own Fincastle competition as a member of 201/2.

We were known as Stumpy and the Stumpettes in those days.

We didn't win but I learned a lot about Purple Death:}
