Hello, just a quick question to see if anyone can suggest where I could find out info on the current Thomas Cook fleet, numbers and engine types. I have attempted searching the internet but cannot find the latest info and I am trying to source a copy of the Flight international recent census but am not too sure how up to date it would be. If anyone has any suggestions on the latest web sites or were to look I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for you help.:ok:

Have been looking on the aircraft registration database and it says that G-VCED hasnt been seen since 12th December, but i didnt think this aircraft was on lease?

G-VCED is in Budapest having a heavy maintenance check, will be returning to the UK shortly.

G-DHJZ is returning to the fleet for S09 (along with -DHRG, -KKAZ, -SUEW, and -TCAC which went to Canada for the winter).

EMA has 2 x A320s again this summer, so your Mahon trip will be on one of those.

The summer 09 fleet distribution can be found in this post (http://www.pprune.org/airlines-airports-routes/257303-thomas-cook-16.html#post4683104).

Anyone know which A320 is at EGSS being used for the summer run down to LTAI?

OliWW
10th Apr 2009, 15:01
Could be any, most likely to find out about a week before. Last year the most popular aircraft there were G-CRPH, G-SUEW, G-GTDL and G-OMYA but needs to be closer to the time to find out the exact aircraft :ok:

The fleet this summer should be 44 units, comprised of 12x A320s, 4x A321s, 7x A330-200s, 1x A330-300 leased from Thomas Cook Scandinavia, 16 Boeing 757-200s including 1 leased from Skyservice, 2x Boeing 757-300s and 2x Boeing 767-300s. TCX are currently finalising their plans to replace 10 aircraft which end their leases over the next 12 months (6x Boeing 752s and 4x Airbus A320s) and apparently the 767-300 which is currently subleased to Monarch will be returning next February.

The 757 isn't leased from Skyservice. It is owned by Thomas Cook.

Apologies (not that I think there's any need for rolling eyes for one mistake, but anyway!), I had just been told that the aircraft was a Skyservice one, I was not aware that it had been with MyTravel for some time before going to Canada on longterm lease in 2006. Sadly, I'm not that old of a legacy person from either airline!

You're right, the :rolleyes:were a bit unecessary! I apologise. BTW are you legacy MYT or legacy TCX?

finding_nema

TCX, but with no prejudice (in fact a preference) to some of my lovely colleagues from MYT!

Envoy320
15th Apr 2009, 16:05
Condor will become boeing and TCX will become airbus in the near future....

Just a hunch....but i'm usually right on these matters!

Are any a/c still flying in MYT colours ?

OliWW
16th Apr 2009, 21:06
There are non in the UK, however, still some lie with Thomas Cook Scandinavia,

A320.214 - OY-VKS
A321.211 - OY-VKB
A330.243 - OY-VKF
A330.343 - OY-VKG
A330.343 - OY-VKH
A330.343 - OY-VKI

Are all currently in My Travel colours, however, OY-VKB was ferried to NWI today for paint into Thomas Cook colours. Hopefully OY-VKF and OY-VKI are sprayed into Thomas Cook colours before they begin their lease to Thomas Cook UK this Summer

Envoy320 , is there any way for public to find out this information?

In a similar way to ana aviation (http://web.ana-aviation.com/BY_schedule.nsf/Departing%20Schedule!OpenPage&Start=1&Count=1000&Expand=2.105) which has the aircraft types operating flights for TOM schedule?

Cheers.

G-GTDL hasnt been in service for a month, locations?

G-OMYA is currently out in Palma, got hit by the stairs yesterday, so will be out of action for about a week or two, AEU B752 replacing it down at LGW??

yeo valley
16th May 2009, 15:35
G GTDL was working out of brs nearly all last winter. I see a titan 752 working out of brs today. It covered a monister flight. G DHRG missing. Wondered if its gone tech somewhere, or covering another flight somewhere else??

Kestrel_Stu
16th May 2009, 16:13
G-DHRG positioned BRS-LGW last night to replace G-KKAZ which positioned LGW-EMA to replace G-OMYA which is still stuck in PMI. Hence the Titan sub at BRS.

G-GTDL is still in the hangar running late from maintenance, supposedly back in service @ LGW next week.

G-TCDA is still awaited from Turkey (how long is a piece of string) and its flying line is being covered by Astraeus / Jet2 / Amsterdam Airlines at LGW. Latest rumour was that it might turn up next week.

G-TCAD (ex-Vueling) is due on 01 Jun into LGW, but that was always the planned introduction for this one.

Busy few days for ops!

Noticed that both 767's now in TCX livery as is the uk based A330-300 OY-VKI....with scandinavia titles

Appropriately just OY-VKG left in the MyTravel livery... Will be very sad to see it go!

Envoy320
5th Jun 2009, 08:11
Agreed....its a shame to see it go but the TCX livery is so much better on an aircraft in my opinion.

It doesnt look as cheap

OliWW
5th Jun 2009, 08:30
Some of TCX's aircrafts are coming to the end of their lease, will they be getting replacements?, I think its 3 A320 and 2 B752?? or 4 B752???

Envoy320
5th Jun 2009, 08:35
talks are being held with both boeing and airbus to renew their fleet.... watch this space!!

OY-VKH is still in MYT livery too i believe......

G-DIMB is in MON livery (part of TCX fleet) but will be painted in to TCX livery in May 2010 and re-registered to G-TCCB

OliWW
5th Jun 2009, 13:08
I also recently heard that TCX are getting 2 more B753 from Condor? True? Would probably make sense with a slowing German Market

Envoy320
5th Jun 2009, 13:11
Heard nothing regarding the B753's coming - not up until May 2010 at least!!

Oli..the plural of 'aircraft' is 'aircraft'.

7th Jun 2009, 13:16
I remember hearing from somebody that all of the B752 "Charlies" ('CD, 'CE, 'CF and 'CG, all about mid-1990s machines) are the ones that are ending their lease this winter, alongside one or two of the legacy MYT Airbus 320s, and the company is replacing these according to a group-wide tender, encompassing all of the TC Group airlines (TCX, Condor, TC Belgium, TC Scandinavia and Skyservice). The B757 "Limas" (all the ex-Flying Colours a/c) still have a bit left on their leases, and as the B767s are owned, we will have a 3-strong fleet of them next summer. Not heard anything about additional B753 units.

OliWW
7th Jun 2009, 15:53
CD, CE are both built in 2000, they surely have a few years left in them but then again if they are leased, they might renew the contract. CF was built in 1989 so is probably the most likely to leave, along with CH, CI, CJ, CK are the oldest in the fleet, so who knows

finding_nema
7th Jun 2009, 19:52
We don't have a CH, CI, CJ, CK all of those letters are Limas, so LH/I/J/K. All of the Charlies joined the fleet in 2000, and are the ones at the end of their leases apparently, whereas the Limas, BA and AN are here for a little while longer.
