one sees a lot of opportunities to fly in the gulf of mexico for most big companies----however i have never seen an advt to fly for chevron--how does one get in to fly in the ifr prog offshore for chevron

google search a bit and look up Chevron's HR department and start looking for job vacancies.

I would imagine they prefer GOM experience pilots.....and a reference from current employees goes a long way towards getting accepted.

While Chevron's operation in the Gulf is much like a standard GOM 135 operation. A gret deal is like a Corporate flight department. The Gulf is a small community, while many will disagree with that statement, it is quite true. The pilots for Chevron tend to recommend pilots they know and like when opening come about. Usually before they are published. The position is most likely filled before they are published.
