With the British invasion of Moscow to take place on the 21st May does anyone have details of charter flights from the UK?

Didn't I read somewhere that all flights to Moscow for the Final were already booked / allocated and only available at rip-off prices?

A couple of days ago I was told that the best bet if you had a ticket for the match and to get you to the final on time would be to fly to Latvia (Riga) and onwards by relatively cheap train to Moscow.

Personally I'll stay at home and watch on the box!

Or, fly to St Petersburg and get the train.

Hiring a car in Russia not advised! Unless you speak the language.

All returning Thursday a.m. The Transaero's are showing as operating to LED

You sure you aren't talking about UEFA Cup Final with those Russian aircraft bringing in St Petersburg fans?

There are all sorts of aircraft due to fly from MAN to Moscow for the Champions League, but most of them are European airlines including several 747s.

At least 15 sectors on 747's I have seen. New slot figures to be released tomorrow. Looking like upwards of 70 odd flights departing Manchester on the 20th/21st.

As of noon Friday for the period 19th - 23rd May, 222 planed sectors equating to 111 turnarounds. Servisair and Flight Support seem to have the lions share with Aviance and Swissport as understudies. 27 of which are 747-200 or above these figures include certain aircraft making multiple appearances.

Operators include, Corsair, Air Finland, Air Via, Transaero, Air Slovakia, Dubrovnik Airlines, Flightline, Air Italy, Seagle Air, Iberworld, Swiftair, XL Airways, Monarch, Fly Globespan, Air Europa, CSA, Futura, Austrian, Aigle Azur, Jetairfly and Neos.

Slots are being applied for and handed back daily. Next update on Monday.

I have today booked to go to Moscow for the CL final - leaving Luton on 20th & returning 22nd. Package booked with Thomas Cook (who do all the official CL packages for Chelsea)

At the moment, we have no flight timings or know carrier but have been assured that it will be a Thomas Cook plane - i really dont fancy getting onto a dodgy Russian charter Tu-154 or similar so am really hoping that the flight will be operated by Thomas Cook.

I guess at this stage there's no way of checking??

Cheers

Paul

I have received my itinerary today & am travelling on a HV flight at 14.05. I assume this means it will be a Transavia flight - dry!!

Anyone had any experience of them? Seem to have a nice modern fleet.

Thanks

Paul

Whilst on crew positioning through MAN on Tuesday afternoon, I noticed the great looking Privatair 767 sitting there.

I thought it would probably be flying the Man U players over to Moscow in comfort, but later on realised that they were already in Moscow having flown out on Monday.

Is the Privatair aircraft flying the owners/directors or other rich types out to the match, or is it at MAN on other business?

Hi

With all the queries about planes flying out to Moscow, does anyone know ehat time roughly the planes will be flying back to Manchester? Would be especially interested in the United Team plane follwing success. Will be able to get out to AVP tomorrow but will probably have to check out teletext for inccoming flights.

First scheduled arrival is 0350 in the morning but I am almost certain that will slip. All dependant on how efficent Moscow are at processing the flights their end. Plus looking at the weather forcast for Moscow they are forecasting fog late evening early morning which will almost certainly have an impact on the flow rate west bound.

Team rumoured to be back mid afternoon but no plans known as to what they are doing after arrival.

It was in MAN to carry family members of the team out. Approx 30 pax on it, plenty of leg room I guess!!!!
