..whats security like at Hurn these days...?

I sneaked over to the old EAL hangar last week to shoot the CL44...great shots in sun but didn't hang about to shoot anything else.

hi

By the term Sneaked in did you enter the field without permission ?
in which case well done for announcing to the world . We have enough
problems viewing anywhere at the moment and a person could cause
a block in some places . Many Airfields are stopping Spotters going
anywhere and others Require ID Cards. We try to maintain good
Relations with police and security so please don't go where you are
not supposed to be . The Bournemouth (BOH) Spotters are a nice
bunch and there Groups can be located on Google and Yahoo better
to seek there friendly advice than End up causing problems for us all

Good comment. Delivering the Ground Security Aviation Training at LHR myself and my fellow presenter sing the praises of the extra levels of free security provided by the spotters at most large airports. Keep the good work up.

hi

Glad to here you did ask . Would have been better to say that on your post

The man in the booth on the northside only acts as a check on who comes and goes into the industrial area(if you mean the north west side) which is landside. If the manned booth near the FRA entrance let you in airside without airside pass etc then that's a different matter.

Solent School of Flying are moving to the north side soon June I think. They are planning to set up a picnic type area on the grass and have venders etc for refreshments. This would be an excellent move for them and the airport.
