Reading a few threads on here, like why SAA stopped CDG and also plans for new long-haul aircraft, I was just wondering how exactly is all the current A340s used, since I believe the amount of international flights done by them is less than a year ago.
This is what I believe it is now:
JNB-LHR 14 weekly (7 A346 + 7 A343/2)
CPT-LHR 7 weekly A346
JNB-FRA 7 weekly A346
CPT-FRA 7 weekly A346
JNB-IAD 7 weekly A346
JNB-JFK 7 weekly A343
JNB-HKG 7 weekly A343
JNB-GRU 7 weekly A343/2
JNB-MUC 4 weekly A343/2
JNB-BOM 4 weekly A342
JNB-PER 5 weekly A342
JNB-LOS 4 weekly A346/3/2
JNB-LAD 4 weekly A346/3
JNB-ACC 3 weekly A342
Since last year it changed as follows:
JNB-CDG 7 weekly dropped
JNB-GRU dropped from 10 to 7
JNB-BOM dropped from 5 to 4
JNB-ACC dropped from 4 to 3
JNB-MRU Saturday A342 changed to 2x738.
New is JNB-MUC 4weekly
and JNB-LAD increased from 3 to 4
so basically that is 8 medium/longhaul flights less?
The question then: Is the current fleet of A340s being used to it's full potential?
