Hi folks,

There's a strong chance I may be going to Kuwait or Oman sometime this year so I was curious about what the GA training scene is like in these countries, if there is one.

I'm currently a PPL from Australia with CPL theory but would like to complete my CPL hours whilst O/S.

Can anyone shed any info on how available this type of flying is in these places and what sort of costs I'll be looking at.

Appreciate any info.

Cheers, PP

NO GA in Oman, dont know about Kuwait but there is a flying club in Dubai(Piper),Fujeira(Seneca and C172)and in Ras al Khaima(microlights and C172)All the above are in the UAE.

Thanks Seaking. Are the hourly rates over the top given the lack of demand or are they reasonable?

Cheers, PP.

PP,

Don't know whether this is close enough, but it's worth a try.

Good luck

Hello prodder

I believe the average charge is around 660 dirhams for a single,i dont know about the microlights or the seneca.

If you work on an exchange rate of (approx) 5.45 dhs per uk pound it will give you an idea of the cost, sorry but i dont know what you collonials use for your rate but you can work back from there.

I will get you a phone number for the Fujeira aviation center and post it over the next few days, the dubai flying club has its own website which you should be able to find and i will try and get the RAK number for you.

Good luck
