I've heard that the BBMF Spitfire lost it's canopy today. Anyone know if it (and the pilot) are OK?

These aircraft are just too precious to damage - do hope the occurrence was unavoidable.

Is there any more info on what happened?
How bad is the Spit? Pleased the pilot is ok.

Erm, stickmonkeytamer, I've been waiting for someone to comment, but no one has - so here goes. You say
...the BBMF Spitfire...
Well, the BBMF had five Spitfires at the last count, unless you know something I don't.

I believe the tailplane was holed and has been removed for repairs
