Hi,

just wondering anyones past experiences dealing with a bank for an unsecured loan for funding modular flight training.

Looking at borrowing the sum of CPL/Multi I.R from the bank - how do they view this reason for borrowing even though I'd still be in full-time employment?

Vulcan,

I see your based in Scotland, have you spoken to the RBS yet?

They might be able to give you a career development loan of up to £8,000 for training deppending on the organisation you train with.

I think that if you need to borrow less than 15K, you should be alright if you have no other debts.

Depending on the bank, you can also ask to allow you to go into negative balance up to 5K, which could be a better solution because you will have a better overview and flexibility over your spendings.

Past experience will be no guide to borrowing in the here and now.

I don't think you'd get yourself very far past £10k at the moment.

Why not just take a personal loan, then they won't even ask what it is for. Some banks give real good rates. I doubt you will get any change from £35k
