Food charges on det

Hi all,

Did i read correctly that WEF 1 Apr 08 we are going to be charged for food on detachments? Does this effect all op dets then, SEEB, Basrah, Al Udeid etc? or just UK courses? Also, does anyone know the likely amount of the charge?

Seems uselss to moan about it as they will do it anyway, but would appreciate knowing how much this 'det-tax' is likely to cost me! Oh well, what else would we spend our Op Allowance on anyway...divorce lawyers maybe...?

i'm on det yet again at the moment and was just wondering if i'm going to get a bill for it! No-one in sandy places seems to know anything about it. It was in an email i hurriedly read just before deploying, and as i'm not back for a while i though one of the sages of Pprune may know...

Thanks for all your help Mac, no really. You don't happen to be an adminer do you, or perhaps the Air Member for Personnel..? Or perhaps one of those call centre types who asks you if you've tried turning it off and on again after 40 mins on hold listening to M People.

Read my original post again- i've highlighted the major point: "No-one in sandy places...", i.e. here, ..."knows anything about it".

Anyone else got anything useful to add?
