I understand that a B737NG DEC in Jet (and some other airlines in India) is 6 on / 1 off.
I have been tempted to go for a stint in India but I cannot imagine that a 6/1 work pattern is feasible beyond the short term as the levels of fatigue must quickly build up.
Can anyone with experience of this work pattern comment ? Thanks, Caissa.

Hi, The link will show you the regulation in force.

http://dgca.nic.in/cars/d7j-j3.pdf

The average hours flown per month could be anywhere between 60-80. During holiday season...you could fly upto 100h a month.

Yes it gets a little exhausting if the planners slip on their planning. When things are in control, it could be two mornings, a mid day, followed by one or two evenings.

Rarely would one fly 6 on 1 off, though it happens. The more likely pattern would be 4 on 1 off. The days 'ON' would also include being Standby at Home.

The limit which stands in a pilots favour is 35h a week.

If what Ive written is unclear, please let me know. What Ive said here is general and not specific to any airline.

Warm regards,

JG :ok:
