I've only flown into SVO and DME. For SVO be prepared (obviously) with your conversion tables from meters to feet. Also they tend to give QFE, so below transition if you work on QNH you will have to ask for it, they will say something like 'for information only QNH xxxx.' SVO airport is simple, taxiing seems fine.

They always seem to report CB's in the TAFs, generally seems to not happen, dunno if they are just covering their backs.

On approach they will only clear you to land once you report something like 'gear down 3 greens'

To leave the aircraft to do the walkaround a surly security guard will not let you onto the ramp unless you hand over your airline ID or passport, collect it on returning to the aircraft - they stand outside on the airbridge.

Last time we pushed for de-icing, the ground guy told us to start the engines, once both were running, he then said 'No stop engines, engines must be off for de-icing.' hmmm.

Be prepared for many rapid frequency changes after take-off.

All in all not too bad, sometimes ATC English can be poor, but in general it's okay. I'm not sure how easy it would be to convey a complicated emergency in English, but hey ho.

Enjoy.

SVO

Max speed 270kt below 3000M std. Also max ROD 2950ft/min. You may be left hot&high. Abide to min alt constraints on STAR.

When being radar vectored, you may be cleared for approach with a very large intercept angle. Use your judgement to avoid overshooting too much.

Tower usually wants to know that you are "Gear down, ready to land" before landing clearance.

Docking guidance, both lateral and distance, with red/green indicators. Distance indicator usually on top of the bridge. Marshaller normally present.

De-icing after pushback, prior to engine start.

When WIP, long taxi times possible.

During winter operations runway may be very slippery. Exercise caution with reported friction coefficients.

As tom775257 noted, many frequency changes with small level changes during departure. Due to QFE/QNH/QFE metric ops, care recommended, especially with high rates of climb.

CPH is very straightforward and works well.

CPH

Expect radar vectoring to 22L or 04L unless X-wind too strong. Sometimes quite busy, V good quality vectoring and speed control, separation on final approach down to 2,5 miles so sometimes fairly late landing clearance.
De-icing on remote platform after taxi-out.

Good luck!

No radar vectoring at the moment, only procedural control. ILS GP is u/s so be prepared for LOC approach. Try to get weather info early from Cracow APP or KTW TWR (no ATIS in KTW).
