I'm sure that the answer will be obvious but I'm trying to access the RAF telephone directory and am having no luck. It was always just a click away when I was in but that access appears to be gone the same way as my 1250. Can anyone help?

Surely it's only available on the Intranet? I am talking about the searchable databases (EMSED & DefenceDirectory/DDirectory?).

Sarky but of little help I'm afraid. Compare accessing an HQ listing where you can see the job titles (I've been out 6 months so how many will have changed by now?) to asking an MoD operator for anything resembling help when you're unsure of the job descriptor! Any STC or PTC reference will be OOD and I have a genuine reason for wanting to know.

thanks Sirtopham, (just saw you're post) and that is my point really. There are loads of serving pesonnel who have no access to the intranet so are they as cut off as I currently find myself? It's surely not beadwindow stuff is it?

Sorry to be Sarky, but.....

Anyway, could I suggest you ring a known 24 Ops such as BZN. They will have acces to the intranet and I am sure that if your reasons are genuine they will try to help. I know I would have in my time.

Endplay,

If you ring your nearest military unit the MOD operator will answer. Then you just ask for Brize Ops or whatever. If your military unit is local you get a local call to a distance unit :}

Intranet first and foremost, or 100 and ask for the Mil Operator.

Entirely off thread but:

[Oh, I note that you now have to ask for flypasts via a new set-up - RAF Events Team (Events and Concepts)

And, if you are an RAF Airshow, they charge you for the pleasure of processing your application for RAF aircraft to display at an RAF event to publicise the RAF.

Ah, the usefulness of the centralised Military Telephone directory enquiries. Overheard whilst on the desk one day.......

"Yes there is a station at RAF Valley and it does have a Station Commander. How do I Know?......I am the Station Commander at RAF Valley!

Of course things have improved since then!
