Hi

This is my first post on the forum.

Currently looking into completing a life long ambition of becoming a commercial helicopter pilot.

Wont bore you with the details, but I have noticed that the hours quoted for training to a commercial licence seem to be less in Canada than the USA or UK. Is this incorrect??

I am based in the UK but would be more than happy to live and work abroad. Canada being part of the commonwealth would make this easier than the US and my research to date suggests there is a good chance of employment there. That said the usual quote from US and UK trainers is you need at least 200 hours for work etc (150 for the actual commercial licence minimum). Canada quote 100 hours for commercial.

Question really is what is the score with training in Canada. Would it be a better option and does it work out cheaper than the US.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Pete
