I heard a light aircraft crash landed on 01/19 at FACT last night. Closed the runway for a while.

There have been no reports in the media. Anyone have any details?

I'm told it's a B200, and it came to rest to the SE of the intersection of 19/16, approx 50m-100m S of taxiway L. It was sitting low on the left hand side, but I would only be able to speculate on the damage. I do not know the cause. More importantly, no injuries that I am aware of. 19 closed for some time, until it seems a crane was used to remove the aircraft. Some heavies diverted. Cat C aircraft and below used RWY 16 for arrival and departure.

It happens...

Thanks for the info.

Was starting to wonder if it was merely rumour seeing as no-one had reported anything.

Glad to hear no injuries.

The pilot is an extremely good friend of mine and is more than competant enough to handle such an incident.
Well done "L" and good to have you safely back on terra firma.
