Dear Sirs,
Request for Mutual Assistance by Association Marocaine des Pilots de Ligne (AMPL) against
the RAM Group (Royal Air Maroc).
AMPL has been in negotiations with the RAM Group for almost a year but no progress has been
made. The issues in dispute include the introduction of a B-Scale, the recruitment of foreign pilots
not meeting RAM standards, loss of licence, reinsertion of pilots grounded for medical reasons,
general deterioration of working conditions, pension weakness, unpaid standby days and other
salary items, failure to implement agreed protocols, and the transfer of flying to Atlas Blue (a LCC
100% owned by RAM). RAM has also arranged an exemption from the Moroccan CAA to increase
duty time, reduce rest and suspend the mandatory weekly rest of 36 hours.
At a General Assembly on the 26th of November a large majority voted to reactivate the industrial
action, which had been previously suspended, as of the 1st of December. This includes the non
acceptance of roster stand-by days, the non acceptance of roster changes for off days, working to
rule, refusal of captains to fly with “Eagle Jet” pilots who have finished their contract with Royal
Air Maroc, and the deposit of a strike notice on a date yet to be agreed.
AMPL is therefore requesting the following Mutual Assistance Policies:
Request for Ban on Extra Flights and/or Capacity (Industrial Manual 2.4.1.3)
Request for Recruitment Ban (Industrial Manual 2.4.2)
AMPL will keep IFALPA and Member Associations informed of any further developments
concerning this dispute.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Yours faithfully,
Captain Georg Fongern
Principal Vice-President
Professional Affairs

In other words: There is a legal conflict between pilot workforce and management. The pilot union is requesting asistance from all pilots by not breaking their ban. If you do,- you would by most professional pilots be thought of as a scab.

That is not correct, I just checked and they are not on the list of recruitment bans. Only Alitalia and a portugise company was on it.
