I think Air Harrods only perform the maintenance on this aircraft and it is actually owned by a wealthy American business man who used to have the S-61 G-LAWS and uses it only for his private use when in the UK. I may be mistaken though.

I believe it travels all around europe when the owner comes to town a few times a year

All pretty much correct.

Air Harrods has the contract to fly it for the owner as well.

Compared to the feel of the simulator at Farnborough it flies very, very smoothly too and that's with only the basic force generator fit.

Reflex how many pilots do Air Harrods have type rated on it and do they ever advertise for pilots either captain or co pilots to fly it. Do you know what kind of locations it flies to.

Thanks

Reflex is it true that this helicopter now has a toilet installed, what is the endurance of this helicopter or is it just because the guys on board have some drinks.

I imagine the security at Air Harrods would have to be pretty tight, what with the threat from Prince Philip, MI6 and all...

I was invited to have a guided tour of this aircraft over two years ago and it had a lavatory then! I would imagine that the endurance of the S92 is certainly greater than my bladder capacity!!

The acres of tan leather inside the aircraft are a sight to behold. Even the comms cabling is leather covered as well as the aforementioned fixture!!

Cheers

yup.

My favourite was the leather-covered cables - bet it takes a while to replace those if you have a short!

Remember the toilets in the early Bristow AS332s....only a flimsy curtain between the cabin and some hungover rig worker getting rid of his last lager and vindaloo for two weeks....:ooh:

We've managed two 3hr 15min legs with the 92, both times making it back from Geneva without stopping.
As for actually using the loo - you're joking, he who uses it empties it! Unless of course it's one of the passengers.

I do remember the loo in the Bristow Tigers, it wasn't long before they were removed.
