On a application form i'm filling out it says "EMPLOYER'S PROFESSION OR BUSINESS?" This is a stupid question but what do i write down in that box? Say if i worked for an airline already what do i put down???

What they specialized in, ie BT = telecomunications. IBM = IT, just gives them an idea what background you are from/in

Unless, prior to you receiving the application form, you'd already told them that your current employer was "Suzy's Cathouse - our guarantee 'the customer always comes first'", "The I C U rite nut 'n bolt store, every screw you could want" or some other screamingly obvious company name, then I would say that it's not unreasonable to be asked what line of business does your current employer actually ply.
