The Birmingham Airbus is a very interesting read!! here (http://www.aaib.dft.gov.uk/sites/aaib/cms_resources/Summary%207-2007%20Airbus%20A310-304,%20F-OJHI%201-08.pdf)
At a point 6 nm from the runway the aircraft had descended to an altitude of 660 ft, which was 164 ft agl.
