Can anyone confirm the growing rumour that Menzies have gained a very substantial foothold at Stansted???

Once again you start a thread asking a question you know all the answers to.

They need to get Ryanairs contract in Gerona. This afternoons flight to Bournemouth was five and a half hours late. The performance of the handling agents keeping the passengers informed? Pathetic!

Even the crew were not forthcoming about the reason.

Must look and see if Ryanair owe me compensation!

If I remember rightly FR signed a reasonably long term deal with Swissport at STN in late 05/early 06 for around 7 years. Bit sketchy on the exact detail.

That's not to say they may try and wash their hands of it as I don't think Swissport are making much money from it at the moment hence the recent 60odd redundancies.

My guess is this is one of the numerous ramp rumours that fly around every airport (no pun intended), some people seem to always take these as facts.

60 redundancies ?? I think you will find the number was nearer 6 , and all of them were voluntary .
