RAF Corporate Comms has put so much 'spin' on this that their 'journalists' must have worked for the 'Sun'!
The truth is out there!

Antipodean Alligator

That looks amazingly like an F3 in the background of the photo. And, can a Cessna fly at 10,000?

Bigears, it's a rumour network. Do tell!

Big Ears

What's this story got to do with RAF News and its staff? This was done by the RAF's corporate comms fellas, nothing to do with the RAF News; different organisations entirely, old chap! And probably supplied to the comms staff in London by the station CRO etc!

Seasonal greetings to all!

Is this the same Cessna saved by the air trafficker?Or do we have a plague of lost russians?

Jeez - alwayslookingup - must try harder.

It's a GR4.

This one, in fact...

Any by my reckoning, the Cessna can go up to around 13,500ish ft.

There's cynical, and then there's too cynical.

Harrogate, sorrrrrrry. Guess I indulged in a bit too much of the other spirit of speyside last night, and I don't think the crew look like these two very much.

ALU -"can a Cessna fly at 10,000"
Well yes they can and a lot higher than that also. I have one with a service ceiling of 17000 ft, without which airways would be impossible.
Whilst here may I say thanks and good luck to ALL our service personnel please? MOST folks appreciate the sacrifices made on our behalf.

Aw, you're just grumpy because you're totally wrong.

The lookalikes aren't mine - I just cut and pasted them from another rumour site. Share and share alike, in the spirit of Christmas. The irony of your wayward skills of comparison isn't lost on me, though.

On another note, it was good to see another outbreak of morale with the Royal Marines in the 'stan on the Beeb news a minute ago. Anyone spot those 'taches?

LOTA, You're quite correct- my apologies to anyone slurred :} :O
Eastern Wiseguy alludes to what I was alluding, with the truth being somewhere inbetween.
As several others have, I'd also like to show my support for the Services :D:D

This was done by the RAF's corporate comms fellas

The editor of the press release was Flt Lt Ronnie Metcalfe. SHE is the Lossie PRO. I agree that it's a bit spin-tastic but it's a more positive story than "Allied Forces Bomb School" according to Taliban sources!
