I'm not familiar with Bournemouth's policy but you MUST be in possession of an airside pass before gaining access to any airfield/port regardless of who you are. Well besides the queen and similar Dignitaries but you get the picture.

Got something to hide???

no, it's more the bother of going through five years of history - where I've had time out doing various things, if i have to do all the research for these forms i figure i may as well get on the case, but to be honest, it bores the crap out of me thinking about all the admin involved.

if students don't need airside passes - why do instructors?

You only need an airside pass to gain access to the restricted airside area.

All the other areas you don't need one.

So it really depends where the school is and what the policy is of the airport.
I have never had a pass as an instructor because we never operated on that side of the airport.

I really don't want to start on the internet telling you about the various ways you can get access without a pass to a restricted airside area but its not hard if your a pilot.
