Would like to know the age limit to apply for a F/O starting possition at Lan (Chile)? Is it possible to apply with 34 years old? (CPL/ME +-220 hrs).

Hello Chileno:

I was asking the same thing. Last tuesday LAN ran a news ad looking for pilots here in Venezuela. The funny thing was that the maximum age for captains is 62 , but for first officers is just 35 :bored:. I mean, it's fine for the company to "use" a captain for just three years (after they have given him a type rating), but a F/O is "old" at 35, still having before him 30 years of "use" żżżżżżż????????? I applied anyway, being short of 37 years old. I'm guessing it was a typo!!!! :E

Saludos

To continue:

LAN was requiring for captains, 4000hrs total, with 2000hrs in airline equipment and 100hrs Efis/Glass cockpit experience.

For F/o was half of that, 2000hrs total with 1000hrs in airline, and the same 100hrs of Efis/Glass cockpit.

Saludos.

YV757:
Thanks for the information provided.:ok:
In Chile mins for LAN are:
-CPL/IR (do not require ME)
-Minimums anywhere from 200 hrs.
