Hi,

Does anyone know why they'd be two phantoms (as far as i could tell) in close formation flying overhead carbis bay, cornwall at about 1000ft, with what looked like 4 armaments loaded on each aircraft!!

they flew over just a minute ago, at 12:35 - quite slow as well, heading south, possibly towards culdrose!

cheers,

SO

Probably Hunters from here (http://www.hunterteam.com/main.htm) on contract to MoD

There are quite a few Super Etendards around conducting CAS over SPTA and routing home via Lizard and mid Channel but maybe they are doing so over Castlemartin today as well as there is a CAS ex there too....if they were heading south then back to their base at Landivisau in Brest. 1000ft is a bit low to fly home though unless they refuelled at SMG.
Rafales have also been with them.
But they could have been the Hunters yes, which have both been in SMG together recently

Looked at that site, it may have been the buccaneers then, as it was definately twin engine jet, with a high tale.

hmmm, interesting though!

Defo not Buccaneers... non flying in the UK.

There was a formation of a Jaguar and Tornado operating in Devon and Cornwall this morning and went home overhead my place about 20mins ago.

Looking at different google pictures of the aircraft, the one that looks most similar is the Super Etendards.

wish i'd got my camera out in time! would've been able to upload a shot!

Definately not tornado's or jag's.

The Super Etendards have been carrying inert GBU's so they would have been the weapons you saw... (I'm not a spotter, honest)...

Don't forget!

Thursday War should be underway down in the Far Southwest, probably FRA Falcons?

That nice Mr. Brown tends to see to it that we don't such much else down this way these days.

Best wishes to all serving anywhere hot and dusty, some of us at least are grateful for what you do.

I didn't see the offending aircraft, but following the thread it looks like the standard of recognition needs a little bit of work....?

Re, your power tool pics.
The Bosch plane you showed in your link is a professional model, whilst Bosch DIY standard models come in green.

So recognition tip, Blue= Professional model, Green= DIY model, with cheaper motors and electrics!

I'm not a plane spotter, Honest!
