Well done to the bloke that chose to jump in the thames to 'save' a member of public.

Maybe time to fit winches to air ambulances & police aircraft, then train them to use it to save the bobby on the beat jumping in?

Good job there wasnt any PCSOs first on scene, we all know what they do when they attend people drowning.. (nothing) ..!!!! :oh:

I hope they landed the a/c on the riverbank and gave the cop a lift back..

And.. well done the crew for deploying the "floatation device" actualy on target.. hehehe that HAS to be a first..!!

How ironic that stuff like this doesnt get linked to the 1.9 percent payrise fiasco at the moment. Jacqui Smith ought to have her eyes super-glued open and be forced to watch this vid until she sees sense..

And now, for all his heroic efforts, the guy he saved will go and take an overdose.

How long before that bloke takes the officer to court for infringing his human right to commit suicide!

A young prisoner who tried to commit suicide has won £575,000 in public money as compensation – after warders saved his life.

One prisoner received £2.8 million compensation after a failed suicide attempt, which is equal to the previous prison service record payout in 2002.
The payment was made in an out-of-court settlement to a prisoner who self-harmed and claimed for miscellaneous injury against the Prison Service.

Top job, nice to see that for once it didn't occur under a load of power lines. Interesting that the flotation device in use seems to rely on a hand grip rather than webbing or rope loops to lessen the risk of cold weak fingers.
