such as what languages do they look for

Usually the language of Love.

straight from the horses mouth

Unfortunately horses are not allowed to join the RAF.

Look here http://www.pprune.org/forums/archive/index.php/t-271394.html

and strangely enough the RAF advertise the job here http://www.raf.mod.uk/careers/jobs/weaponsysoplinguist.cfm

lol thanks for that.
i was aware of the website and have looked, but wanted something a bit more indepth, personally i think you get a real taste about the job from people that actually do it rather than just reading about it, but cheers for the links :)

rather than just reading about it

If there are any linguists that frequent this forum (I doubt very much) who write their experiences on here, then surely you are still reading about it.

If you won't listen, and you feel you know better than those who have tried to help and try to get you to go to the ONE thread that WILL give you the answers. Then don't waste their time and mine, and PPRuNe's bandwidth.

Go to another site and see how you get on.
