I've had problems with the playback being jerky after uploading from a video, Also find iMovie crashes during upload after about 20 mins. G5 Imac, 2gb ram, running Leopard.

Any advice appreciated:confused:

BusyB,

There are some people who have had problems with iMovie 08 freezing and quitting on them. You could try the following:

1. Move all com.apple.iMovie.plist files which are located in home/library/preferences to the trash.

2. Restart your Mac.

3. Open iMovie again. You should get the welcome screen and essentially a "fresh" version of iMovie.

Regarding your jerky video, there are few things you could check:

1. Make iMovie is set to the same video setting as your camera. If you have an NTSC camera, iMovie may be set to PAL?

2. If you are importing 1080i footage, check the setting in Preferences. If it is set to "Full", try changing it to the "Large" setting.

There is quite good coverage of the current iMovie issues on the Apple Discussion Forums (http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=141)
