How the hell are they going to find pilots for these airplanes

Just ask the guys at Beijing Pan Am.. they seem to do pretty good at making falsified logbook entries... I'm sure they can manage to give CJ1 training and expect students to be able to transition right-seat in a Scarebus with no other type of training. An Airbus wouldn't be a "Scarebus" without a student from BPIAA in the cockpit.

Aren't these the Airbus's that China is manufacturing anyways in Shanghai?

What they have to do is more relax with their regulation or they can't beat India which too relax, I heard there will be avarage 2 aircraft/day going to China from Europe or US.

speedbird1969 :

Show me the money......They're having problems finding people already

no they not, they give better money than India and their people works better than in India, yes 98% do not speak english but not a big problem aviation languages are standard and they will do when all aircraft already arrived.

Not most social group of nationals on earth....thats why a lot will stay away.

did you know how many Brazillians are ready there in China?? and now they can't keep China for themself, specially after having trouble with their english language in Hong Kong read in this forum "Air Macau" how the Brazillian Captain speaks portuguese during single engine

I heard on the news a couple of months ago (Chinese CCTV9) that china will have a difficit of aprox. 8,000 pilots (!!!) by 2009.

The good news are that our flight school is the largest in China and can only output no more then 300 students per year. Even this is a real stretch. They will have no choice but to get over their nationalism and hire some ex-pats. Pay projected to be around 30,000 yuan per month.

Of course, CAAC license will give everyone a good leg up in this matter. As far as i know, conversion to CAAC ATPL is not that painful. I got CAAC CPL/ME/IR - this was a real pain in the ass bacause english version of exams were mistranslated to a degree that you just didnt know what the question was about. However ATPLs are mostly based on FAA Gleim questions and fairly easy.
