Hi Guys,
Just a quick one. When you push pitch synch to align your flight director bars does the autopilot disconnect?

Autopilot just rides along, like engaging the clutch, you have full control and autopilot follows your manual input until such time as you release the Sync button, then fully in command again.

Yes , you are correct.
