I live near Yeovilton. I've just seen what I initially took to be a C130 but then realised it was a twin so I now think it was probably a C27. It was heading vaguely in the direction of Boscombe or Lyneham at a guess at an altitude of maybe 2-3k.
Can anyone confirm the sighting or offer an alternative identification?

Have to confess I'm not too familar with a C27. Most of the "twin-engined Hercs" we get over here (near WOD) are Transall C160s...

There was a French A/F Transall (C160) that went from Yeovilton to Lyneham just after 1 O'clock.

HD, the C-27 is the US designation for their Alenia G-222s (twin turboprops).

By the way, what was the old Director freq - 119.65?
