I've been asked to fly down to Cannes for a week in an A109 and be available for a few local trips. I've surfed the net and found out there's a helipad called Croisette (JCA) but the web-sites are a bit basic and don't give much detail.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience of landing/operating from there?

Thanks

J

From what I remember it's an HLS and not much more. I don't think there's fuel or hangarage. The airfield to the west of Cannes is Mandelieu, and has facilities.

Heli Securite based in St Trop use JCA for all the big Cannes festivals, so they are bound to know the contact info etc. +33 494 555 999

Azure Helicopters are based at Cannes Mandelieu and must also know the info - they are on +33 4 93 90 40 70

Heliriviera, based at Cannes-Mandelieu +33 493905300

Can provide information and an Ops service if required, for appropriate fees, of course.

Try this link:

http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/aip/enligne/PDF_AIPparSSection/VAC%20HELISTATIONS/AD/3/0712_AD%203.LFTL.pdf

It is straight from the France AIP that is on the web (www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr)

I think locally it is known as "Palm Beach".

Have fun.

The HLS in the French AIP is not Palm Beach/Croisette. That site is further East, about 2000m from the centre of the town, and quite close to the Palm Beach casino. Palm Beach/Croisette is not in the AIP, it seems.

The artist is right, the HLS is on the pier, I would not be shure how to get approval, ask Mandelieu or the Chambre de commerce.

It is also not the non published site at the casino.

Cannes LFMD, is quite convenient, heli friendly (straigth approaches etc) and has full service and reasonable opening times. Remark that for the AIP site flotation gear is required.
