Have loaded the CAA charts from the computer onto the above PDA, (which has an inbuilt GPS), and have transferred some routes on the map from the computer to the map on the PDA.

However, the map software on the PDA will 'not talk' to the GPS, and I suspect the reason is a configuration one of some sort.

On computer and PDA, GPS menu is set up as recommended, (as below)

manufacturer NMEA 0183
Port com 1
baud rate 4800
data bits 8

With this setting, both the computer and the PDA return the message 'can't open com port'

I've tried using a different com port on both, and obtain the same message, unless I use com 2 on the PDA, and then get the message, 'communication timed out'

As I've said, it's accepted the maps and routes, but won't do anything else.

Does anybody know what steps to take next? Have just spent 4 hours on this, and due to my lack of knowledge, am not getting anywhere!

Thanks
