You'll have to contact CASA for their final word but you'll find them a lot more relaxed about eye standards than JAR land.

Eg, you can be colour blind and hold a Class 1 medical.

Silly question but I would appreciate it if you could tell me what JAR and JAA are? I kind of gatherd you receive one or the other but which countries give what and what are the advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks in advance.

JAA = Joint Aviation Authorities (http://www.jaa.nl/)
UK is one of them.

JAR = is Joint Aviation Regulations. The rules that the JAA make.
