Been done already, however any ideas on what kit to take to Basrah for 4 months. Apart from a sense of humour.

You'll probably find a thoub most comfortable particularly if you carry a middle age spread, no nasty belt to rub round the old midrift ;)
Oh..........and flipflops.

Oh, some blue food dyed vodka with added mint in a mouthwash bottle. If you want to get sent home. Dont worry on this front, fruit juice with an added 3 squirts of alcohol hand rub you will be laughing, or blind!
Lots of sheets and clothes pegs to create your own "empornium" (or spider mans lair :E).
Your favorite wash items and lots of, the naafi is a rip off. Lip balm. your own decent lock. Towels.
PSP or equivalent.
Oh, the most important thing. Sunglasses. Oh, I am not talking about your airy fairy types. You need some that would make stevie wonder proud. Its BRIGHT!
Oh, some elastic for your beret. You cant go anywhere without your lid on (Army facists).
