Is the Nightcat Jaguar (XX833) still flying at Boscombe?

If not, when did it finally bow out?

Was up a few weeks ago in Wales, if that helps?

Apparently bowing out in mid-October... maybe you've missed her.

That's the jet. The last I heard, she was predicted to go in October. She is, however, a helmet sight equipped, ASRAAM-wired platform, and is, I gather, a pretty useful jet. I wonder whether her demise has been brought forward by the bean-counters, or delayed by her inherent usefulness?

Still on the books as an airworthy airframe. As there is interest, I will give any updates on last flights/out of service dates as appropriate. The battle for who will fly the last sortie has not yet started!

Why are Boscombe getting rid of it? They are forever moaning they have no FJ CT hacks (would have thought ETPS would have grabbed it), there must be shed loads (literally) of spares about.

It was certainly knocking about earlier in the year, flown with a certain amount of 'style' too:D

Concur with that. XX833 is a real star on the low-level routes. The flying is quite superb! I've only ever managed to get one half decent image of XX833 and that was back in August. The noise was fantastic as the air was sliced above me!

I have seen an image of XX833 at low-level going through Tal-y-Llyn Pass, Wales. The vapour was just fantastic as the pilot turned and banked to port. Unfortunately the image is on a registration only low-fly forum.
