I've been give a lappy to fix. Two main problems: It has a centrino wireless adapter & although it detects networks via it's own software, windows sees no networks, it just will not connect to one. I've removed IPV6 as advised round the net, but still no joy. Mac address is all there etc, but nothing off pinging the router.
2nd & more confusing is icons. Throughout the machine, they are tiny, almost corrupted in appearance. I've messed about with fonts, icon sizing & colour depth & resolutions etc & no joy. I created a new admin account & everything is fine on that one so any ideas??
Its XP home, has definitely been through a few hands - I found five or so old profiles on it & is a Toshiba Equium. I've cleaned it up best I can, scanned for viruses & updated drivers left right & centre & still no joy.
