Discussion yesterday on what the E is for in a SRE approach. Example LGW has a SRA approach but CGN has something similar but calls it a SRE approach. Could not find anything with a quick view of the Jepp Text. Any ideas, not important, just interesting.

The definitions may have changed since I did them but in my time it was....
SRE = Surveilllance Radar Equipment
SRA = Surveillance Radar Approach

One can either request an SRA or an SRE approach.

SRE = Surveillance Radar Element. I believe it's a UK military term, originally derived from this being the surveillance radar element of a precision approach radar system, i.e. the bit that feeds you into a PAR.

Interesting - I have always understood the E to mean equipment, but I just looked in the Aerad Supplement list of abbreviations and it says "Surveillance radar Element of a precision approach radar system", as above.
