New to forum, hope I'm in the right place. Can anyone tell me about living conditions in Equatorial Guinea, specifically, Molabo. I've spent time in Papua New Guinea, which is grass huts and cooking fires, open air markets. Would Molabo be a grocery store kind of place?

I guess you mean Malabo? It's not a grocery store sort of a place as you'd understand it in north America, more of a suppamakket sort of a place as we understand it in Africa :}

I recently spent a few tours there. It's not bad as West Africa goes. Better than PNG I dare say.

1. Cops are corrupt and try to shake you down for money sometimes. This seems to be getting better.

2. Base management is pretty good.

3. Money is very good considering it's not that bad a place.

4. You must take anti Malaria medicine as a condition of employment.

5. Three or four stores selling European food.

6. reasonable restaurants and bars.

7. Accommodation is a crew house which when I was there was having ongoing problems with air conditioning and electricity. But clean and with sat tv and internet.

All in all not a bad place as CHC Global goes.

As you fly out to the field you can see ( on clear days) the Nigerian field which is always a good reminder of how bad it could get.

I would go back to Malabo.

Gee neither do I. Let me know if you go to Malabo. IF you go make sure you check out the Spanish consulate. Best restaurant in town.

Erm.. I am new to this too... But if you click on the name of the person you want to send a PM to and select, Send a private message to this person and you should get a textbox come up.. Write your PM and submit it..

The sent PM will appear in you private message sent items page.. You will see if you have new messages if you look into the top right corner of the screen and you should see the word "unread" with either a 0 or a 1,2,3 etc if you have new PM's from anyone.. I am sending you both PM's now.
