Just looking out of the office window at 5 military helicopters circling over London just south of the Westminster area. Anyone know what's going on?

My apologies, this is in the wrong forum. This, whilst might be considered being the subject of rumour and news, doesn't have any impact on job or lives as professional pilots. Mods - please move to appropriate forum.

Probably what's covered HERE (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=291815)

I think it is a little unfair to immediately jump on a post and if it has no blindingly obvious significance to professional commercial aviation, request it be moved.

Five damn great military choppers near the Mother of Pariaments and right under the flight path to Heathrow may well have some serious impact (such a the re-routings away from Central London in the wake of 9/11) on professional commercial aviation.

The R & N forum is, for many of us a first port of call, to read the "headlines" before meandering off to the other forii.

At least it gives an interesting or potentially interesting topic a fairly wide airing before mods (who seem eminently capable of making these decisioons themselves) move it to a more appropriate location as the story develops (or fails to).

Thanks for the update Chilli. I was getting a little concerned as we have also had dark windowed cars with police escorts whizzing around here (just south of westminster) this morning, plus a few more than usual police siren incidents.

Interesting thread about the 21st special ops squadron - ta.

Just a thought, but is there currently any forum that should handle upcoming events? I've missed a few things listed in JB and R&N because I didn't see them in time. :(

Shame we don't have a "Look out yer windows tomorrow..." forum for stuff, regardless of type etc..

Or am I being too lazy :\

:ok:
