Does anyone know how to resolve this question?

The trip fuel for a jet aeroplane to fly from the departure aerodrome to the destination aerodrome is 5350kg. Fuel consumption in holding mode is 6000kg/h.The quantity of fuel which is needed to carry out on go-around and land on the alternate airfield is 4380kg.The destination aerodrome has a single runway.
What is the minimum quantity of fuel which should be on board at take-off?

a) 14730kg
b) 11730kg
c) 13230kg
d) 13000kg.

Thanks

Simply increase trip and diversion fuel by 5% and add 3000 (.30 mins of one hours holding). Except I make that 13217 which does not match the answers you supplied, Paddythenav:8

The answer given is 13230kg.
I understand that the contigency is 5% of the trip fuel not the diversion fuel.
Can someone explain this to us.
Thanks

If calculation shows that there should be at least 13217kg of fuel, then the minimum quantity of fuel on board is 13230kg.But I'm not sure that flying to alternate you must calculate the 5% for reserves.
