Hello,
One of the flights into ORD made it to the news recently ... wx diversion ended up with a longer delay than expected. I was not a pax on that flight; however, I would be interested to know what (may have) happened. I am assuming that the Operations were desperately trying to negotiate another slot to ORD, but eventually had to give up? I understand ORD is very busy even in good weather, but still...
On the other hand, would they have been "luckier" had they elected (if this was an option) to hold instead of diverting? (I don't want to second-guess the decision, I am just curious).
