Any info is appreciated.

I am not sure whether this is such a great business progression, given that they ceased operations due to financial difficulty earlier this year. Now they figure that they may be able to make a go of things using thirstier jets where more economical turbo-props didn't work. I wish them well, but these type of business moves raise red flags in my mind.

they may work better with the new business plan. The reason the failed originally was that there were tooo many airlines serving the region..LIAT C'STAR, C'SUN, A'EAGLE. The region is not big enough for so many airlines, n most people will go for LIAT.

With the new model...n certainly new routes 'worldwide' they may do better.

As I said, I wish them well, although their business strategy does raise questions. Caribbean Sun may well become the airline offering the best quality service to (where are they flying to in the Caribbean anyway) from Florida, but they are competing against the likes of US Air, Delta, American, Spirit and Continental, who more effectively bring the Joneses from Kalamazoo to the Caribbean due to their extensive network. I guess, of course, it all depends on what Caribbean Sun's expectations will be from their new hub in southern Florida.

Probably what has been done is to buy the certificate of the old CS. Cost is millions to start up a new airline, but jumping on someones certificate can save 30-50 million in startup costs. So it would appear this is a whole new business plan with an old certificate. Any hiring news?

That is exactly what is happening. Their current operator's certificate is a non current asset to them. It has value, much too valuable to just sell or leave buy the wayside to rot so to speak. Their name in the business debatably has some value too. Their source of capital is the same;). New business plan hehe.

Whooooaaahh what? Sound almost like they plan on taking on the likes of Emirates and Qatar Airways directly. Did they find oil in that part of the Caribbean also or with this be ganja-powered? :ooh:
