Hey,

Has anybody done a sim assesment as part of there interview and had the instructor without any warning remove the app plate just before the MAP and expected you to have memorised the procedure ? If so how common is this in interviews. It is the first that I have heard of it but somebody told me about it happening to them recently and was caught completly off-guard.

I could see that being done to test you if you have any clue at all what to do. You should at least know if you go left or right and altitude. The nav should already be on freq on st.by. Never happend to me though...

Could it be to see if you're able to use other resources? Like your co-pilot, ATC?

you open your binder, and gosh, the plate is not here...
ask controller for frequency, DH, etc...
